Question
Are your Special B and Aromatic malts the same or extremely close to those once made by DWC? I was told that they were.
Posed by Bryan Smith, Portland Me. USA on June 17, 2002

Answer
Yes, the Special B and Aromatic from Dingemans are very similar to those that were previously produced at DeWolf-Cosyns.

Question
I have been homebrewing for 12 years and have an excellent recipe for a pilsner. With the closing of DeWolf Cosyns and subsequent unavailability of their excellent pilsner malt, I have been unable to duplicate its subtle sweetness in my beer. Any substitutes available from your company that are comparable?
Posed by Kevin Fleuchaus, Milwaukee WI USA on June 14, 2002

Answer
The Pilsner malt from Dingemans of Belgium has proven to be an excellent replacement.

Question
Hi,

As a user of DWC's Special B, i'd like to know which malt can be used to replace it.
Sadly enough DWC is going to be closed, therefore forcing many (small) brewery and homebrewers to change their recipes. I've heard that the monks of Rochefort have already complained that their beers taste different.

What's your advice? Kind regards,
Herman Holtrop
Posed by Herman, Groningen The Netherlands on May 29, 2002

Answer
We are currently be supplied with Special B from Dingemans of Stabroek, Belgium and have found it to be an excellent replacement for the DeWolf.

Question
who has the belgium wheat malt or a comprable malt with the same flavor

Answer
Dingemans Pale Wheat from Dingemans Malting of Stabroek, Belgium is now available and in stock.

This is the exact same wheat that DeWolf supplied us for many years.

Question
Are you going out of business? That is the rumor...
Posed by rich ireland, Charleston WV USA on October 23, 2001

Answer
Nothing could be further from the truth. One of our partner companies, DeWolf-Cosyns, is closing sometime in 2002, but we are well situated to supply our customers with a wide selection of alternative products.

Question
I currently use DeWolf Cosyns malts in my micro brewery. Who will be handling the Dingemans malts in Western Canada?
Posed by Neil Herbst, Edmonton Alberta Canada on October 15, 2001

Answer
Western Navigation in Vancouver will be your best best in the West. Their phone number is 604-669-3237.

Question
I am a homebrewer and was wondering if any retail outlets in the Capital District of New York carried your products, especially DWC Special-B ( my personal favorite for British ales).

Thank you for your time
John Lincoln
Posed by John V. Lincoln, Ravena NY United States on July 5, 2001

Answer
John,

Sorry, but I am not aware of any homebrew shops in your area. If you have a shop in your area that you frequent, you may wish to ask them to carry the Special B for you.
